Hi! My name is Teresa Bigioli, and I’m a writer by trade and a traveler at heart.
For the past few years I’ve been travelling non-stop, filling that insatiable need to see more to discover more. Along the way I started writing about my everyday life on the pages of my diaries. Page after page, flooded with receipts and tickets, photos and flyers, my experience went from moments to eternal memories. In those pages, the experiences were the file rouge, and all the “strangers” I met daily, the decorative frame of the narrative.
After years abroad, meeting people and habits, hosted in their houses and families, I now have something to share.
Creating Head Abroad
I was uncertain about the purpose but conscious that one day this would’ve turned into something special.
I knew I wanted to create a space to people to talk about their stories, but I’ve never really thought about it as something doable, rather as a blurry vision “for the future”. This project was far from my mind.
After spending 48 days locked in a room in quarantine, one thought led to another. As I browsed for more content, information and prompts, the idea came back and everything got clearer by the minute. Everything fell into place and the focus soon got defined: writing stories about the little peculiarity that define our beings and our origins, find the unique sides of each one of us that create who we are. And through these unique aspects, create a connection with the world. In other words:
Portray people’s differences and their original features, and through a representation of their peculiarities, portray a picture of their cultures.
When something’s right, it comes naturally. And so, in few clicks and thoughts, Head Abroad was born.
I’m now happy to finally share these stories, bringing to you the incredible people I met in my many adventures.
Warm your cup, get a blanket, seat tight and fasten your seatbelt: you’re about to embark on one of the best trips of your life.
Welcome to Head Abroad
